God
is NOT an aspirin!Yet, many people act
that way towards God.They forget Him
until they have a problem, then they dig deep into the cabinets of their faith
and look for Him.Yes, you may hear and
receive from God in your deepest hour of despair (1), but that is not the
highest will of God.His highest will is
for you to walk close with Him daily.Seek
His face at all times, and commune with Him throughout your day (2).This is how your life has peace and success (and
you are not running putting out problems). How much more lovely is it to have a week of peace and joy, then it is
to have a week where you got your way (with a lot of manipulation) only to have
the unrest to go with it; the unrest which brings unbalance toyour health?
No,
God is not an aspirin.He is like water;
Living Water (3).We can not survive
without water.We can not survive
without God.In a world full of hate,
crime, lust, perversion and every other evil you can think of (and not want to think
of), God is our life--And, that is alright because that is what we are created
for.We were created for God and to be
with God; this is our highest purpose; everything else is to follow(2).
When
you treat God like an aspirin you lose out on the benefits of the Living Water--The
benefit of His presence with you which brings peace, and joy(4).The benefit of His guidance so that you don’t
get yourself into a mess.The
supernatural benefits which you will experience here, but you will only fully
understand in Heaven.Yes, God is our
Living Water!
When
you treat God like an aspirin. You
miss out!You put Him away in a dark
cabinet of your mind (how sad). You
don’t think about Him or spiritual things until someone is sick, dying or some
other tragedy is in your life. How sad
to know that you would push the God of the universe to such a small space in
your life. How sad to push the God who
died on the cross for your salvation to such a small space of your life. How sad to push the Holy Spirit of God (your
comforter and guide) to such a small space…
Brothers
and sisters, God is seeking you, will you seek Him (5)?How sweet it is to walk with Him!
