The Most Evil Thing You Can Do
The most evil thing you can do as a Christian is to know God is real, and that heaven and hell are real. To know that eternity in hell is nonstop burning pain, torture and torment. To know that the only Way to heaven is through Salvation through Jesus Christ; otherwise people you come into contact with will be damned in eternal hell fire and you did not tell them (warn them, save them). This is not love; this is evil.
This is equal to being in a burning building with family, relatives, friends, acquaintances and they are not aware of the fire. You knowing that there is an emergency door with an emergency slide that will take people out of the building safely, easily, quickly but they don't know about it. Planning to use the emergency door and slide for yourself and leaving everyone behind because "that's there problem". Is that what God expects from us Saved Christians? "I'm all good, I'm Saved, too bad for you."???
I know some may be thinking of many vile things done on earth that you say are more evil. As Christians those things shouldn't be remotely on our list. Also, in the eternal view of things knowing that someone you know dies tomorrow, say in a car accident, and that person will spend eternity (non stop) (no death) burning and being tormented in the most horrific ways only known to demons and their leader cannot compare to the most vile things on earth.
In the case of family, relatives, friends there is no reason you should not share the gospel once. If they do not accept it, continue to walk the walk and drop seeds (see blog post dropping seeds). Pushing the matter after you have spoken to them once may push them away from you and you may be the only one that is interested in their Eternal Salvation, but at least you gave them that one opportunity and at that point it was their choice. Hopefully, after awhile of praying for them and you have been dropping seeds they will be interested in hearing you again.
In the case of semi-acquaintances such as at work you have to respect the rules of the establishment (give Cesar what is Cesar's). It will be on the establishment administrator's soul why Christians were not allowed to save people. If possible invite someone to lunch or a party at your home; now they are away from work and you can speak on whatever freedom of speech is allowed; and Salvation is still protected speech. Continue to pray for them to have an opportunity for you or someone else to Save them.
I know it may be difficult in some cases. In certain situations (say a stranger in a store or street) unless the Holy Spirit has spoken to you, you may have to subtly drop seeds (see post dropping seeds) and pray for them.
Will some people mock you, laugh at you or verbally and possibly physically attack you. Yes, this is possible. Don't use this as an excuse; in most cases the worst that will happen is an eye-roll and they ignore you for a while. They did these things to Jesus and the apostles and we are no better. Matthew 5:11-12--Blessed are ye, when [men] shall revile you, and persecute [you], and shall say all manner of evil against you falsely, for my sake. 12 Rejoice, and be exceeding glad: for great [is] your reward in heaven: for so persecuted they the prophets which were before you.
No one is asking you to run like a lunatic knocking on every neighbor's door blocks away from you. Jesus and the apostles are our examples and they did not do that. There were many in the towns they visited that went to hear them, and there were many who did not go to hear them; they did not chase people down with the messages.
Also do not confuse the Salvation message with "attend my church, join my church group, or religious affiliation". Those things can be spoken of at another time and the person may think that you are just trying to get them to join your group which is not as vital as their Salvation.
